"WRITING A MEMOIR"
Want to share experiences from your life with your family or the world at large? If your answer is yes, then you want to write a memoir, a remembrance of your own experience.
You don’t need to be famous or to have lived an exciting life in order to write a memoir—even one that gets published. What you need to do is learn to tell your story well.
That’s what professional writer Carolyn Banks will teach you—which part of your story to tell first, which details to include. “Every life is interesting,” Banks says. Banks’ first published short story, “Growing Up Polish in Pittsburgh,” was based on a personal experience.
A memoir often serves as the basis for fiction, too. This class is a good place to start the book you’ve always wanted to write.
This course will be taught by fiction writer Carolyn Banks. Carolyn Banks is the author of a series of humorous equestrian mysteries: Death by Dressage, Groomed for Death, Murder Well Bred, Death on the Diagonal, and A Horse to Die For, all of which have been re-releases by Amber Quill Press. In addition, Carolyn has written Mr. Right (a smart-ass parafeminist psycho-erotic thriller), The Darkroom, and Girls on the Row. She is also a journalist and videographer.
Course will be limited to 9 people.
