UPSTART’S PC EDITING WORKSHOPS IN BASTROP Taught by Nerissa Oden http://TheVideoQueen.com Learn to put together photos for a public service announcement that can be run on Bastrop Community Access Television! Bring your pictures on a disk or bring a camera that will fit into your computer and let us show you how easy this is! Classes are limited to 15 participants so everyone can get individual attention. These classes will be held at the UMAC (Upstart Media Arts Center) 1800 Linda Street. See our web site, http://www.UpstartInc.org for a map. These courses are for PC users. You’re welcome to bring a laptop that runs Windows XP, but that’s not required. Courses are $30 each OR get both for $50. Send check to Upstart, PO Box 365, Bastrop 78602. NOVEMBER 18, 10:00-11:30am "Turn Photos into Videos in 5 Minutes" This short workshop will teach photo-to-video for beginners. We encourage representatives from non-profit organizations to join us to learn how to turn photos into short video PSAs (Public Service Announcements) for broadcast on BCAT-TV. Public also invited to learn for personal home use or Join BCAT-TV to get your videos on the air!! Class will cover getting photos into Windows Movie Maker, arranging photos, then finishing your project to video. BCAT-TV video submission requirements will also be covered. NOVEMBER 18, 12:30pm-3:30pm "Learn Windows Movie Maker" For complete beginners. This 3-hour workshop will demonstrate and explain Windows Movie Maker. Capture, edit, and finish. Windows Movie Maker is a free video editing software that is included in every version of Windows XP. (You're welcome to bring a laptop that runs Windows XP -but NOT required.) ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Nerissa Oden is the workshop leader and is known as “The Video Queen”. She has been using and training people on free software and affordable video making for the past six years. Before that she worked as a professional film and video editor for twelve years.
