Crap, indeed, happens!

This is a true story, happened this past Friday (August 4)
and it would be very funny if we weren't a struggling
nonprofit!

My day ended with a call from our electrician down at the
building Upstart is trying to put together--the UMAC. It
was Mike, our beefy electrician and it sort of went like
this--a comedy routine writing itself except I'm not
laughing. What's really funny is that Mike, if you know
him, is kind of a tough guy. Anyway,
Mike: We got a problem down here at the UMAC.
Lyn: What's up?
M: We got us a number two.
L: A number two?
M: A number two. In the commode.
L: You mean a bowel movement?
M: Yeah, that's what we got.
L: Well, could you, uh, flush it?
M: I don't know for sure it'll flush.
L: Well, could you, uh, try?
M: I don't that's such a good idea.
At this point I had a giant HMMM moment. Then I said,
L: Well, do you want ME to come down and flush it?
M: I think you'd better call a plumber.
Well, it turned out Mike knew about the giant unflushable
number two yesterday morning, but he didn't think to call
me until Friday evening after every plumber in Bastrop was
out for the weekend. And guess why the number two wouldn't
flush? Because our sole employee, Jessica, had been using
the facility when her cell phone fell out of her pocket and
into the commode one day last week just as she was
flushing. She called me and I said, 'Well, did it flush
okay?,' and she said 'Yes,' and I said, 'So, okay, buy a
new cell phone.' Now there has been, shall we say a build
up of flushable products and the entire toilet is going to
be pulled from the floor on Tuesday morning. I'm laughing
but not laughing, if you know what I mean.
