Seguin Film Festival (Bastrop: The First 175 Years)
27 Oct 2007

It's time to hit Seguin! They have a lovely festival there--a lovely square in the middle of the city with street vendors and a great video festival held in an old restored theatre, The Palace.

The 13-minute movie that Upstart made for the City, "Bastrop: The First 175 Years" will be shown at the Seguin Festival on Saturday, October 27 at 1 pm. It's important to have a show of support for our movie, so we're hoping you'll make the trip and be there to applaud for our work.

This movie was made by Bastrop people right here in town. When you watch the scene in the cabin, for instance, you'll be seeing antique provided by Bill and Pat Crawford. And the injured man is Mike Todd, who lives on Wilson, tended to by Robbie Sanders, who lives on Main. The director? Michael Waxman of Cedar Creek. And in the Runaway Scrape? That's Davis McAuley from the newspaper. His wife, Carolyn Banks, wrote the script and produced it.

"Bastrop: The First 175 Years" has great camera work by Jessica Gardner, whom you see covering events for BCAT--Bastrop Community Access Television. Donald Banks did some additional shooting. He's a BCAT graduate, too.

JOIN US IN SEGUIN to show your support on October 27. It's a wonderful event and this is a wonderful movie. Maps, directions and details on their website

I'll see you here!
